The Bidar museum’s Bidri collections of huqqa bottoms, Aftabas, trinket boxes, goblets, spice boxes, contain mostly designs of wine creeper and poppy plants. Geometrical decorations also appear. Later products show Hindu lotus decoration.
Bidri masterpieces are displayed in museums and galleries all over the country. These days artists still tap away at their craft in the back streets of Bidri as well as in the process involved in the blackening of the Bidri vessels gives the water stored in it curative and medicinal properties.
